Bettye Jean Geiger Head passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021 at her home.
Bettye Jean was born on December 18, 1928 in Boaz, Alabama to Charles Oren and Ida Lucille Ryan Geiger. She graduated from East Rome High School in Rome, GA. She was living with her parents in Panana City, Florida when she married Clyde Edward Head. Bettye Jean worked for Valley Vend . She loved gardening and was a member of the Lindale Garden Club. She was a member of Silver Creek Presbyterian Church. Bettye Jean loved needlecrafts, sewing, needlepoint, embroidery and quilting. But what she loved most was her family and spending time with them.
Bettye Jean and Clyde were married on February 11, 1943 and lived in Lindale, Georgia until 2008 when they moved to Wesley Woods in Newnan, Georgia.
Bettye Jean is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Gloria Knox of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; son Mike Head (Pam) of Indian Springs, NC; and daughter Susan Coggin (Ed Jenkins) of Newnan, Georgia; grandchildren Matt (Barbara) Head, Jennifer (Brian) Kothe, Payton (Terri) Coggin; Kacy (Judi) Coggin and 8 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens in Rome, Georgia on Friday, April 16th at 11 AM. A celebration of life picnic will be at the Newnan home of Susan and Ed on Saturday, April 17th at 1 PM.
