Worden, Betty J., age 84, of Knoxville, and formerly of Houston, Texas, died peacefully Wednesday, February 17, 2021 with her loving family at her side. She was born September 6, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Joe and Bertha Anhaiser. She married Thomas C. Worden (Tom) on August 6, 1955 and moved to Tennessee in 1967. She was a member of John XXIII Catholic University Parish. Betty worked for twenty-one years and retired from TVA in 2002. She loved her family, Church, friends, art, gardening, hiking, and the Smokies. Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2006, Betty and Tom co-chaired the First and Second Annual East Tennessee Parkinson Unity Walk in Oak Ridge in 2012 and 2013. Betty and Tom were High School sweethearts in Houston, Texas, and were married 65 years. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her son, David Kraig Worden. She is survived by her husband, Tom, and children: Senea Worden and husband Larry Feezel; Stephanie Ferrand and husband Bob Ferrand; Karen Pyne and husband David Pyne; grandchildren: Sam Worthy and wife Kate Kishel; Lauren Hancock and husband Derek Hancock; Jim Houser and Meagan Houser, Christopher Ferrand and wife Emily Ferrand, and Sydney Ferrand; great-grandchildren: Kynley and Nora Ferrand and Reese and Gwyn Hancock; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary and John Bales and Audrey and John Thomas. The family would like to extend special thanks to Maxim Health Care providers, and the wonderful CNA caregiver, Toya Williams; also to UT Hospice staff for their outstanding support. A Funeral Mass celebrating Betty's life was held at John XXIII Catholic University Parish.
