Betty L. Taylor, age 88, of Dublin, GA, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Dublinair Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Edgefield, SC., on December 9, 1932, to the late Ernest and Ruth Gibson Leopard. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and was a nursery volunteer. She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother who served as a Brownie and Cub Scout Leader for her children. Mrs. Betty also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Burke County Hospital. She was a member of the Garden Club in Waynesboro and was also a Master Flower arranger. She spent several years at Brentwood Health Care in Waynesboro before moving four years ago to Dublinair Health and Rehab Center in Dublin, GA to be closer to her family, and under the loving care of her son.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanna Taylor Foster; grandson, David Schearz; brother and sister-in-law, Gene Leopard and his wife, Millie, and brother-in-law, Ed Johnson.
Survivors include her devoted husband, William Dennis Taylor, Sr., of Dublin; son, Dr. William Dennis Taylor, Jr. (Jenny), of Dublin; daughter, Nancy Taylor Mock (Ricky), of Social Circle, GA; grandchildren, David Mock, of Oxford, GA, William Dennis Taylor, III (Jenny), of Dublin; Jennifer Mock Knight (John), of Oxford, GA, William Stuart Taylor, of Savannah, and Heather Brooke Foster, of Gray; five great-grandchildren, and sister, Mary Ellen Johnson, of Aiken, SC.
Graveside services for Mrs. Taylor were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 17, 2020, in the Graniteville Historic Cemetery in Graniteville, SC on the Taylor Family plot. Longtime family friend, Rev. Mac Enfinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Milledgeville, GA, officiated.
