It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Lou Perez, who left this world on February 18th, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born on November 16th, 1937, in Sault Ste Marie, MI, to Sybil and Don Joseph.
Betty was a devoted wife to Larry Perez and a loving mother to her two sons, Dennis Perez (wife, Sheryl) and the late David. She was also a cherished sister to Marsha Cross and Pat Lawson. Her furry friend, Sparky, her faithful canine companion, will miss her dearly.
Betty was a woman of great talent and a fantastic work ethic. She worked as a secretary for Ted Caffey's Chevrolet, and later for the Chippewa County Agricultural Extension Agency. She took great pride in her work and was respected by her colleagues.
Betty was a lifelong active member of North Shore Baptist Church and volunteered her time and energy there. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many children. Her dedication to her community was a testament to her kind and compassionate nature.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held at North Shore Church at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 22nd, in Menominee, MI. There will also be a service at First Free Methodist at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 25th, in Sault Ste Marie. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In Betty's own words, "Cherish your yesterdays, dream your tomorrows, but live your todays." Betty will be missed, but her memory will live on forever. May she rest in peace.
