Betty Lou (Griffin) Musgrove was born to parents, Jack and Betsy (Shade) Griffin on November 11, 1933 in Gore, Oklahoma. Betsy was a full blood Cherokee Indian descended from Lucy Cornsilk who survived the Trail of Tears from Georgia area to present day Oklahoma. Betsy died when Betty was young. Jack (Papa) Griffin moved Betty to Conroe when she was eight years old to be near his family. That is where Betty Lou grew up, and later would meet and feel in love with Robert Clinton Musgrove, her husband.
Betty danced peacefully through the gates of Heaven on July 21, 2022. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Clinton Musgrove, half sister Marie Dyke, her youngest daughter Linda Diane Musgrove Finley, and Homer Treadway, her longtime companion. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Marie Musgrove and her son Robert Charles "Charlie" Musgrove and wife Lisa, all of Conroe. She is also survived by her grandchildren Bobby Joe Finley and wife Crystal, Chad Musgrove and wife Kelly, Jackie Finley-Wieghat and husband Jason, all of Conroe, Mallary Musgrove Brown and husband Alvin of Austin, TX, great grandchildren Colton Finley, Katelyn Finley, Alyssa Massey, Chloee Finley, Maddie and Molly Musgrove, Kyndall, Kyndai, and Kynsli Wieghat, and Ian, Seth, and Mila Brown. Also survived by Vicki Musgrove and David Finley.
Betty Lou was a beautiful woman, inside and out, who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved being around people and having a good time. Dancing was one of her greatest joys and she was a George Strait fan like no other. She enjoyed traveling and going on trail rides with Charlie, Lisa, and some of the great grandkids. Betty Lou became closer to her two best girlfriends, Ruby McAllister and Annette Faulker in her later years when they started playing weekly card games. When health prevented them from playing cards they continued to keep in touch with one another. Family was the main focus for Betty. Her face would light up when any of her grandkids or great grandkids would come by for a visit. She loved her time with them.
