Mrs. Betty Hoke Benson Rickels, age 89, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital (Hiram, Georgia).
Mrs. Rickels was born on April 27, 1931 in Marietta, Georgia to Mr. Hoke Benson and Mrs. Jennie Lee (Shipp) Benson. She was a 1948 graduate of R.L. Osborne High School. She was married to Mr. W.R. "Bob" Rickels for many years prior to his passing in February 2008. She was a longtime employee of Allen Drug Company, then Reynolds & Farrar Drug Company. She retired from Paulding Memorial Hospital, where she worked many years in the ER with Registration.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. W.R. " Bob" Rickels; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hoke (Jennie Lee) Benson and her sister, Mrs. Billie Jo Working.
Betty is survived by her son, Mr. and Mrs. William Robert " Bobby" (Pam) Rickels; her grandchildren, Katherine Rickels and Will Rickels; her stepdaughter, Mrs. Deborah Rickels Koon (Donald); her step granddaughter, Mrs. Kahlabeth Fray (Brandon); her sisters, Mrs. Judy Bagwell (Steve) and Martha Sue Hood; her brother, Mr. Jon Arthur Benson (Kathy); her brother-in-law, Mr. James A. Working, Sr.; lots of nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Rickels will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 2:00 P.M. at High Shoals Baptist Church.
There will be no visitation for Mrs. Rickels prior to the graveside service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to either the Paulding County Animal Control or the High Shoals Cemetery Fund.
