Betty Louise Harless Lynch April 26, 1943-December 25, 2021 Betty H. Lynch of Aldie, VA died at her residence on Saturday, December 25, 2021. Betty was born in Pearisburg, Virginia on April 26, 1943, daughter of the late Charlie Lafayette Harless and Dorothy Habernigg Harless. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Henry Harless and Charles "Bill" Harless. Betty worked for the General Services Administration and the County of Loudoun. She was an active Fire/Rescue volunteer and then became a lifetime member of the Arcola-Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Company 9. Betty was the first woman to be elected as an officer in the fire department. Her passion was fulfilling her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children John E. Lynch, Jr. and wife Mary of Orlando, FL; Richard B. Lynch of Melbourne, FL; Dorothy E. McCarthy and husband Bob of Colonial Beach, VA; Barbara S. Aubrey and husband Donald of Aldie, VA; Robert J. Lynch and wife June of Mesa, AZ; and Charles E. Lynch of Aldie, VA. Betty leaves 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Nichole Lynch; Sawyer Aubrey and wife Christine and their children Luna and Nickoli; Joseph Lynch and wife Tiffini and their children Harmony and Jax; Katherine Aubrey; Jessica Lynch; Charles Lynch, Jr. and son Leo; Stephen Heskett and Jennifer Heskett. Her siblings Barbara "Bobbie" Williams and Harry Harless. The family will receive friends and family at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 1-2pm where funeral services will follow on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 2pm. Internment at Harless Family Cemetery in Pearisburg, VA on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Aldie United Methodist Church.
