Elizabeth "Betty" Buster, 89, of St. Anthony, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024 from complications of a stroke.
Born on July 28, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to William and Emma Enget, Betty grew up alongside her older brother Bill and younger sister Louise. She attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School in 1953. Betty's brother Bill introduced her to Hal Buster, one of their classmates. They were married on March 2, 1958. They made their home in St. Anthony, where they raised their three children.
After working as a telephone operator for years, Betty found her true vocation as a dental assistant. She found great meaning and satisfaction in her career as a dental assistant, making it her life's work for over 40 years. Betty worked alongside Dr. AG Miller, his son Dr. A. Glenn Miller, Jr., and Dr. Neil Kunz.
Betty's gentle nature was apparent in both her professional and family life, from offering kind words and comforting her patients to lending that same kindness, comfort, and helping hand to her family and friends. Betty's love for her family was immense, and she dedicated much of her life to helping others. Known affectionately to many as "Grandma Betty," she had a way of making everyone feel loved. Her home was a warm and welcoming place where no one left unsatisfied. Betty had the gift of filling one's heart with love and one's stomach with a delicious slice of pie, piece of cake, or freshly baked cookies.
Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, and working outside in her yard. She was a huge basketball fan and a dedicated supporter of the Chicago Bulls and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Betty was also known to enjoy her outings to Fort Hall for a bit of gambling.
Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Enget, and great-grandson, Tejay Cikaitoga. She is survived by her husband, Hal Buster, and their three children: Hal (Kaye) Buster of St. Anthony, JoDee (Robert) Johnson of Idaho Falls, and Jeff (Debbie) Buster of St. Anthony; her sister Louise Enget of Island Park; grandchildren Cassie, Darby, Tiffany, Jesse, Jake, and Chase; great-grandchildren Rilee, Rosten, Taegan, Owen, and Eloise.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony Stake Center, 247 E 4th N, St. Anthony, Idaho 83445, with the Rev. Dr. Phillip Hagen officiating. The family will visit with friends at the Stake Center an hour before the service.
