Betty Jean Budd Mivelaz passed away September 17, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
She was born on May 3, 1929, to Charles and Irene Best Budd and enjoyed a long and healthy life. She was married to David F. Mivelaz for 70 years and lived most of her life in New Albany and Jeffersonville, Indiana. She and Dave moved to Green Tree at Westwood (Columbus) in 2017 to be closer to their only child, Jan Mivelaz Foster Greenlee, of Nashville, before he died on January 27, 2018.
She was a faithful Christian woman, had a career as a bookkeeper in New Albany missing only a half day of work in 40 years, and loved college basketball, especially IU.
She is survived by her daughter and a sister, Aileen Nimmer, of Green Bay, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Judy Farnsley; and sons-in-law, Jerry Foster and Jerry Greenlee.
There will be a private service in the Chapel of Memories at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany on Monday, September 21 to be officiated by Murphy Belding, Seniors Pastor of Southeast Christian Church, Louisville, Kentucky.
Since Jerry Foster was like a son to Betty, memorials to honor her memory may be given to the IU Foundation/J. Foster Scholarship, P.O. Box 500, Bloomington, IN 47402.
Arrangements were entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus.
