On March 16, 2021 Bettie Ray Parker Hildreth passed peacefully to join many of her family members and friends in their eternal heavenly home. Bettie was 89 years old. Though of very humble beginnings, Bettie was blessed with parents that had a strong sense of family and chose to serve the Lord through church ministry. Born second of five children, Bettie's family served several churches in Northern Alabama and Southeast Tennessee. In her late teens, Bettie met her future husband, quit high school and worked picking cotton and in a sock mill until she and Bill were married on December 24th, 1952. Once married, Bettie and Bill settled in Lenoir City, recognizing that this would be the ideal place to work, worship and raise their children. She made many friends through her church activities, church plantings, missions and her tireless involvement with her children's many school programs.
Bettie was the epitome of a stay-at-home mom: she nurtured her children in many ways but most important to her was emphasizing the importance of a solid foundation in Christ. Bettie and Bill daily demonstrated this through involvement of church plants and development both on the local and international level. As grandchildren blessed her family, Bettie continued to impress the love of Christ on Raychel and Robbie. As the end of life approached, Bettie's love for her family and her commitment to her faith never waivered. She prayed frequently and fervently for not only her family but also her friends that were struggling. Bettie leaves the following family; her son, Allen Hildreth; daughters, Joy (Grayling) Littleton, Angie (Rob) Moore; granddaughter and husband, Raychel Anne Moore (Kyle) Elliot and Robert Will Allen Moore; siblings and spouses, Paul Parker, Joyce (Wallace) Coile, and Sandra Hildreth; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Fritts and Frances Brannen; brothers-in-law, Frank ( Jan) Hildreth, Dewain (Debbie) Hildreth and James (Nell) Hamilton; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Predeceased by parents Allie Ray and Lydia (Chambers) Parker; husband of 45 years, Will Allen Hildreth "Bill"; sister, Bonnie Mashburn; brothers-in-law, Joe Hildreth, Reverend Fred Brannen and Curtis Fritts; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hildreth and Margaret Hamilton. The Hildreth family would be remiss without recognizing the friends, neighbors and care providers that have been with "Gran" during the past 3 1/2 years. We have visited inside and on the "side" porch with so many kind friends and neighbors (and their canine friends). We are eternally grateful to Minda, Betty and Aunt Sandra who have tirelessly worked around the clock; the many members of the UT Hospice team that have been so incredibly kind and selfless to Gran as she completed her journey on earth. Words cannot express our gratitude, especially Dr. Cynthia Pearman and Nurse Nico. Memorial contributions in Bettie's name may be made to the charitable arm of UT Hospice, The Hospice Promise Foundation, 901 Hugh Wallis Road South, Lafayette, LA 70508 or online at https://lhcgroup.com/foundation. Services honoring and remembering Bettie Hildreth will be held 2:00 PM graveside on Sunday, March 21st in Lakeview Cemetery with Dr. Robert D. Crick and Mrs. Frances Brannen officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Hwy 72 N, Loudon, TN 37774. Online condolences: www.mcgillclick.com
