Bettie R. Barnes, 88, of Waldron, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
She was born on May 31, 1932 in Jackson County, IN to George Arthur and Hurley (Honeycutt) Arthur.
She was employed in the dress factory in Greensburg and retired from KCL.
She was a member of Westside Wesleyan Church where she was a Sunday school teacher.
The family expresses their appreciation to special friend, Connie James, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana and Waldron Health and Rehab for their wonderful care of Bettie.
She married Ernest Carl Barnes, Jr. on August 5, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1983.
Bettie is survived by her son, Carl Richard Barnes of Owensville; daughter, Gloria (Judy Richter) Barnes of St. Omer; son, Sam (Lynn) Barnes of St. Paul; daughter, Lois (Stan) Hoefling, of Ft. Branch; son-in-law, Kyle Delph of Blue Ridge, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and brother, Floyd (Ann) Arthur, of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sandy Delph and son, Daniel Barnes, the twin brother of Sam.
Visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2020 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Westside Wesleyan Church in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will follow at Noon at the church with Reverend James Adams officiating.
Burial will be in Flat Rock Cemetery.
