Betsy Ann (Blanchard) Lahaye West Lebanon, NH — The world lost a great one on October 25, 2022. Betsy (Blanchard) Lahaye was born to Charles and Barbara Blanchard on March 7, 1954. She passed away at home holding the hand of her beloved partner of 21 years, Dick Spaulding, after a 3-month battle with cancer. Betsy graduated from Hanover High School and lived in the Upper Valley area her whole life. She worked at Dartmouth College for many years as an accountant, and later worked at several area public schools. She loved being around children, and they loved being around her. Survivors include her life partner Dick Spaulding, her daughter Amy Lahaye and her grandson Bruce (Buddy) both of Canaan, NH; a brother Sam Blanchard of Canaan; sisters Debbie Blanchard of AZ, Nancy Moye (Kevin) of Canaan, NH, and Lori Yunger (Tim) of Shaftsbury, VT. Stepchildren Colt Lahaye (Dorothy), Jeff Lahaye (Joy), Brian Lahaye (Lisa); Dick's children Mickel Spaulding and Michele (Carlos) Fleming; and many other family and friends, including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Betsy enjoyed many things in her life, especially her family and friends, traveling with Dick, camping, fishing, kayaking, biking, reading and walking. She loved New England sports, especially the New England Patriots and also watching her "boys" play football throughout the years. Betsy was the "life of the party" always making people laugh. She made friends easily, never afraid to introduce herself and tell her life story, making a new friend forever. Words that best describe Betsy are: Strong, feisty, kind, loving, generous and fun. The family would like to thank Dick for taking such loving care of her through her illness and always. She will be greatly missed by so many she touched. Graveside services and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
