Mae Elizbeth (Beth) Wyatt Lord, 71 of Madison, died October 16, 2021. She was born on August 7, 1950 to Irma Lee Elliot Wyatt and Thomas Houlon "Bruh" Wyatt. She was a long time resident of Morgan County and she spent her working years serving this community through working both with young people and the elderly. She began her work career with the Morgan County School system in 1977 and held a variety of jobs over the years from secretary to teacher aide, bus driver, and dietician. She was the cafeteria manager at Morgan County High School for over 17 years and retired from the MCCSS in 2013. She briefly worked for the Morgan County Transit System before returning to the school system in 2016 where she returned to driving a school bus. She was still driving the bus until she recently became ill. Her greatest joy was supporting the young people of Morgan County at athletic events and also driving her Crossroads kids. Her personal interests included playing and coaching softball, volleyball, and bowling competitively.
Beth Lord is survived by her two children, Chad Lord and Tonya McMahon (Sean) and her two grandchildren, Chase McMahon and Kaitlyn McMahon. She is also survived by her siblings, Robby Wyatt (Teresa), Tommy Wyatt, Wanda Gardner Thompson, Elliott Gardner, and Paul Gardner (Cathy). She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Paula Gardner. She also leaves many other family members, friends, co-workers, and her "kids" of the Morgan County School System.
The funeral service was held at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The graveside service followed at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Eatonton.
