Bertha B. Ocker , 71 Dec 14, 1948 - Jul 5, 2020 Bertha B. Ocker , 71 Dec 14, 1948 - Jul 5, 2020 Bertha B. Ocker, age 71, of Chambersburg, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday, July 5, 2020 surrounded by her family at her home. She was born December 14, 1948 in Chambersburg, PA, the daughter of the late Clyde H. and M. Naomi (Burkholder) Lehman.
Bertha was a member of Strasburg Mennonite Church. She enjoyed giving of her time in relief work at Cumberland Clothing Center. Bertha was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading, but most of all, spending time with her family.
Along with Merle E. Ocker, her beloved husband of 50 years, she is survived by four sons, Steven (Sharon) of Chambersburg, M. Kenneth (Melinda) of Orrstown, Dean (Denise) of Chambersburg and Ronald of St. Thomas; three daughters, Barbara (Conrad) Horst of Millen, GA, Joanne (Edwin) Shenk of Womelsdorf, PA and Joyce (Wayne) Diem of Shippensburg; 23 grandchildren; five brothers, Daniel (Eunice), Harry (Kathleen), Melvin (Sheila) and Lee (Margaret) and Clyde B. (Brenda); four sisters, Norma Lehman, Rhoda Lehman, Miriam (Carl) Strite and Naomi (Dennis) Risser; two brothers-in-law, Eugene (Nancy) Martin and Harold Rife; sister-in-law, Eunice Lehman and lots of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale Ocker; granddaughter, Doreen Horst; brother, Clair Lehman and two sisters, Mary Martin and Ellen Rife.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Public Viewing will take place from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, July 10 at Rowe Mennonite Church. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 11 at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, Shippensburg, PA with Strasburg Ministry officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Rowe Mennonite Cemetery, Shippensburg.
