Bertha M. "Bert" Moore, 96, of Lawton, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 2, 2024 after a short illness. Bert was born December 22, 1927 in Clay County, Kentucky to Moss McGee and Elva Grimes McGee. She graduated high school in Annville, Kentucky and attended college at Sue Bennett College in London, Kentucky. After college, she taught school for two years in rural Kentucky. She married CW3 Robert M. Moore in Williamsburg, Kentucky on October 25, 1947 and accompanied him to numerous military duty stations throughout his career, including two years in Japan. Bert was a very talented and active person. She attended Dalton Business College and taught as a substitute teacher in the Lawton School System for five years. She was a realtor/broker for Pioneer Realty in Lawton for 13 years and she owned and managed several rental properties in the area until the time of her death.
Bert was a charter member of Olivet Baptist Church in Lawton and faithfully served her Lord and the church whenever and wherever she was needed. She was a caring and loving person, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and she always put the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed helping others, photography, reading and especially pampering her three generations of grandkids, whom she loved dearly.
Bert is survived by her daughter, Gail Wagoner and husband Al of Lawton, OK; brother, Dallas McGee of Annville, KY; sister in law, Frances McGee of Hamilton, OH; brother in law, Earl Reynolds of Erlanger, KY; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Tadlock and husband Charles of Lawton, OK, Christopher Wagoner of Tonganoxie, KS and Stacey Soltysik of Suffolk, VA; 6 great grandchildren; Bethany Litton and husband Toby of Iowa Park, TX; Jessika Bradford and husband Dean of Wichita Falls, TX; Nathan Soltysik and wife Nevaeh of Goldsboro, NC, Calvin Wagoner of Bentonville, AR and Jayce Wagoner and Kamryn Wagoner of Tonganoxie, KS; 7 great great grandchildren, Eli Vallijo, Cash Litton, Trinity Litton, Malakhi Litton, Harper Bradford, Hazel Bradford and Hudson Bradford; close friend, Joann Chapman and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband who died August 29,1999; sisters, Jean Reynolds and Clara Sturgill; brother, Sherman McGee and sister-in-law, Mildred McGee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Becker-Rabon
Funeral Home Chapel, Lawton, OK with Pastor Tim Gresham and Pastor George Malloy officiating.
Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
