Bertha Amira Llerena was born in Manabi, Ecuador, on August 12, 1945, to Arturo Delgado and Teolinda Delgado (Anchundia). She passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 79.
Bertha married Jose Abelardo Llerena in July of 1995. Together, they raised a son and a daughter and proudly watched as their family grew to include eight grandkids and three great-grandchildren.
Bertha had many amazing qualities, almost too many to name. She had a unique personality that stood out in a crowd. She was a strong, determined woman, which served her well as she was always there to keep her family in check. She was creative and fun to be around. Those who knew her knew she would always be there to support and love them, no matter what. She had a big heart and was generous to a fault, always willing to give to those in need. She was even known to give food to random people even when she barely had enough money to buy food for herself. She was also known for giving her things to those she felt needed them more than she did. She was a great chef who loved to cook and make cakes for every occasion.
More than anything, Bertha loved and was protective of her family. She was firm in her ways and her beliefs, never wavering or giving in to popular opinion. She raised her children with love and taught them how to live a life above reproach and humbly yet proudly. She taught them how to laugh and have fun. Bertha demonstrated what it meant to love your neighbors, show compassion and kindness, and always be honest. She was an extraordinary woman with an intuitiveness that allowed her to provide whatever support her family and friends needed. Everyone who knew her agrees that she was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arturo Delgado and Jos? Delgado; and one sister, Ela Delgado.
She is survived by her husband; her son, Jos? L. Llerena and his wife, Nilda; her daughter, Olga E. Camarillo, and her husband, Raul; eight grandchildren: Nicholas Camarillo, Raul Camarillo, Naomi Camarillo, Diego Llerena, Joselin Llerena, Jos? Llerena, Jr., Sasha Llerena, and Karen Llerena; three great-grandchildren: Thomas Ramirez, Kamilah Ramirez, and Theo Ramirez; and six brothers and sisters: Mariana Delgado, Alipio Delgado, Aide Cede?o, Pedro Delgado, Leyda Delgado, and Lupe Delgado.
