Bernice Irene Widell
Bernice was a truly a great person. She was always caring and loving towards others. She not only spoke English, but also spoke Finnish. In all, she was a person you wanted to have at your side everyday.
Bernice Irene Widell, 86, of Esko, joined her beloved husband, Ray, in Heaven on Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was born March 12, 1931, the daughter of August and Wilma Matta. Bernice married Raymond Widell on August 9, 1953 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka, MN.
Bernice belonged to her sewing club for more than 60 years, had many dear life-time friends, and was a long-time member of Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko. The greatest joy in Bernice’s life was being with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and had the opportunity to meet her new great grandson, Peter.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; and infant son, James.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Mike) Prachar of Esko and Kathy (Ronald) Rick of Lino Lakes; three grandchildren, Scott (Jen) Prachar, Andrea (Jon) King and Breanna (John) Duncan; and five great grandsons, Drew, Dylan, Dawson, Alex and Peter.
