Bernice Rich, age 94, passed away peacefully in Pleasanton on Sunday, April 5, 2020. It would have been her husband, Marvin Rich's 93rd birthday. He passed away in 1996. Her son, Dennis and daughter, Arleen were with her at her passing. Marvin and Bernice are now rejoicing together in Heaven.
They came to Freer in 1947 and called it home for almost 50 years. They worked in the oil field, owned and ran the Buckaroo Inn for a few years, and Bernice ran a fabric shop on Main Street, and Marvin partnered with Jimmie Guinn in the pulling machine business.
Most of their friends are also gone but a few will remember both of these wonderful souls. They were longtime members of First Baptist Church in Pleasanton as well as First Baptist Church in Freer.
Bernice is survived by her son, Dennis Rich and wife Shirley; daughter, Lois Arleen Townsend and husband Jack; brothers, Herbert, Carroll and Zelmer Brewer, and sister, Dottie Collier.
