A funeral service for Bernice Peace Phipps, 83, was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020 in the chapel of Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Mackleroy officiating.
Bernice passed away peacefully on August 11, 2020 in Mineola, Texas. She was born on December 2, 1936 in Canton, Texas to James L. Peace and Grace Carpenter Peace.
She grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. On June 2, 1956 she married the love of her life, Charlie J. Phipps. Theirs was a true love affair, being totally devoted to each other. Bernice enjoyed gardening with every kind of flower. She loved to shop with her niece, Regina, and was always buying and providing what she thought others needed. Bernice's pride and joy was her dogs, Sissy, Pete and Prancer. But more than anything she loved her family. She consider every niece and nephew her children. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Bernice Peace Phipps (Bea), is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charlie J. Phipps (Bud); nieces, Regina Mitchell and husband, Chris, Tammy Peace Gilmore and husband, Mike; nephews, Danny Phipps Bruner, Jimmy Peace and wife, Slyvia; great niece, Kasie Furstenwerth; great nephews, Shane Bruner and wife, April and Capp Peace; great great-niece, Elaina Bruner; great great-nephews Elliott Bruner; sister, Mary Elizabeth Peace Bruner; brother, J. L. Peace.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Grace Peace; brother in-law, Daniel Bruner.
Interment will be at Whiterose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
