Mrs. Bernice Carson

Mrs. Bernice Carson, 87 of Dougherty County passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Magnolia Manor.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 Am on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Pine Bluff Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Reverend Rick Owens and Reverend Keith Smith will officiate. Mrs. Carson was born on March 7, 1938 in Worth County and had lived in Dougherty County most of her life. She was a graduate of Albany High School class of 1953. Mrs. Carson enjoyed travelling and going on family vacations with her children and grandchildren. She attended Pine Bluff Baptist Church where she had been an active member since 1972. Mrs. Collins was part of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class and loved her church family dearly. Survivors include her son, Andy Carson (Dee); daughter, Angela C. Selewski; grandchildren, Christie Hart (Rick), Kyle O'Neal (Melissa), Joshua O'Neal (Melissa), and Jamie Carson; 8 grandchildren; and sister, Wanda Tolbert. In addition to her parents Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Carson, Sr. on August 30, 2009 and a son, James "Jim" Carson, Jr. on May 2, 2020.
