Our beloved mother, Bernardita "Bernie" L. Dominguez, entered eternal rest on May 03, 2023, surrounded by her children. Bernie was born on September 08, 1931, to Juan and Leonardita Lovato in Chamisal, NM. She attended Chamisal and Pe?asco Schools. She met Manuel Dominguez Sr., during her childhood; they married in 1948 after he returned from the Army. They moved to Las Vegas, NM for a few years while he attended college and returned to Chamisal where they started a family. Together, they had 9 children, which were their world. They shared a beautiful life together until his untimely passing in 1984. She always stated that being a mother was the best job she could have had and was her greatest accomplishment in life. She loved and cherished every moment made with her family and made sure they had everything they needed to succeed in life. She took pride in being a mother, cooking, sewing, keeping her home in immaculate shape, she loved horses and other animals. She not only was a wife and mother, she was our nurse, our confidant, caretaker, friend, she oversaw the wellbeing and took care of her brother Jessie for over 40 years. She surely was a jackeline of all trades. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Leonardita Lovato; husband, Manuel Dominguez Sr.; in-laws, Alfredo and Rosita Dominguez; daughter, Leonardita Fernandez, son, Alan Mark Dominguez, daughter-in-law, Dolores Serna; brothers, Joe, Tiburcio, Jessie and Roman Lovato; sisters, Ernie Dominguez, Estella Cordova, Josefa Archuleta, infant sister Juanita, along with many other family members, she held close to her heart. Bernie leaves behind her children, Manuel Jr., partner Frances, Idene Lopez, Rufina Dominguez, Juan, wife Sharon, James, wife Lucy, Linda, husband Orlando Gurule Jr. and Arnalda, husband Jose Sanchez; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; her twin sister, Ramona Fresquez, son-in-law, Franklin Fernandez Jr., wife Diana and close family friend, David Lopez. Bernie welcomed everyone into her home and family. She always made sure everyone left with a full stomach, a happy heart, a big hug and an I love you. Wherever Bernie was at, she was always complimented on her alluring beauty, her striking white hair, her beautiful smile and flawless complexion; she will forever remain our beacon of light. Descanse en paz Mamacita linda Rosary was recited on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 7pm at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Pe?asco. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 11am at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Private burial will be held at a later date.
