Funeral arrangements for Benny Huff, 80, of Brownsboro, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Brownsboro Methodist Church with Pastor Jill Krone officiating. Interment will follow at Chandler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Benny David Huff died on October 5, 2024. He was born in Tyler, Texas on September 7, 1944 to Sammy Clinton Huff and Ruby Christine (Tharp) Huff. Benny grew up on a farm near Ben Wheeler and graduated from Van High School in 1962. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then began working for Shell Oil Company in Houston as a computer systems analyst where he met his wife, Linda. Benny retired in 1997 and they moved to a place in the country near Brownsboro, Texas. Benny spent his retirement years enjoying time with his family and friends, going to church on Sundays, working on his land with his tractor, gardening, enjoying wildlife, doing genealogical research, fishing, and riding trails with his ATV.
Benny was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Spell Huff; his daughters Deborah Stevens and husband Jerry and Sharon Huff; his granddaughters, Amanda Odom, Rebecca Odom and Sarah Reed; his sisters, Billie June Tedford, Bobbie Goulding and Kay McLeod and husband Dan; his brother, Lynn Huff and wife, Sarah; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Tedford, David Tedford, Brent McLeod, Barron McLeod, Chuck Rains, and Jeff Luther.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
