Bee Ray Thompson, 83, of Cross, SC, formerly of Blacksburg, a retired construction superintendent with Fluor Daniels, died Thursday in a local hospital. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date, according to Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. Mr. Thompson was born May 30, 1939, in Blacksburg, SC, a son of James Frederick Thompson and Ruby Lee Beam Thompson. He was a member of the Cherokee Falls Baptist Church where he was also a former deacon. Mr. Thompson was a US Army veteran who enjoyed fishing and hunting of any kind and just being outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Rena Martin Thompson; his daughter, Brook LeRae Mizner and her husband, Dennis Clinton, Jr. of Ladson; and the apple of his eye, his grandson, Hayden Reese Childers.
