Barry Paul Pitts, 72, passed away May 26, 2022 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was born April 8, 1950 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Paul Z. Pitts and Colleen H. Pitts. He graduated from The University of Tennessee and Florida Atlantic University with degrees in business and engineering. He worked for IBM and FPL before starting his own engineering firm, which he ran for 27 years.
Barry was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and music director. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, serving in his church, Bible study, music, weightlifting and lively debates. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his son, John Paul Pitts, daughter, Julia Pitts, sister, Faye Decastra, and brother, Bruce Pitts. He will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Melanie Pitts, to whom he was married for 41 years.
The memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL on July 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
