Barry Eugene Hite, age 70 of Emily passed away on December 1, 2024 at his home. He was born on September 6, 1954 in Concordia, Kansas to Ellis and Donna (Bodle) Hite.
Barry graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, Class of 1973. He married Roberta McCulloch in Emily on June 18, 1977. He was a retired Pastor for the Hilltop Chapel in Palisade with 20+ years of ministry. He was a former Jeweler in Brooklyn Center and Emily; a former coach for wheel chair softball and basketball teams; former secretary/treasurer for the Courage Center Rolling Gophers, St. Paul Rolling Saints, and National Wheel Chair Softball Association; coached the Emily youth baseball and basketball teams, coached Crosby-Ironton baseball and basketball teams; was a member of the Minnesota Softball Association Hall of Fame. Barry was also an avid outdoorsman with a passion for deer hunting.
Barry is survived by his wife, Roberta; two sons, Joshua Hite of Fargo, ND and Jason (Amy) Hite of Merrifield; his mother, Donna Hite of Emily; his brother, Bruce (Barbe) Hite of Emily; his sisters, Brenda Wood of Emily and Nancy Hite of Brainerd; and three grandchildren, Jacquelin, Quinn and Rylie Hite.
Preceding Barry in death is his father, Ellis Hite.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Wesleyan Church in Emily. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
