Barry Lanier Haston, former Elbert County Sheriff, died September 11, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Norma Gaines Haston; brother, Dennis Haston; and is survived by his siblings: Donnie and Harriet Haston and Teresa and James Hall; sister-in-law, Pat Haston; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects and sign the guestbook at Berry Funeral Home Friday from 9:00a.m.-4:30p.m. and Saturday, from 9:00a.m.-12:00noon. Services are Sunday at 3:00p.m. at First Methodist Church of Elberton. He will be placed in the church at 2:00p.m. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
