Barry Glenn Agerton, 67, of Pageland, SC, a loving and friendly soul whose faith illuminated the path of many, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 in Lancaster, South Carolina. Born on December 15, 1956 in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late Jon Edward Agerton and Elizabeth Arden Agerton. Barry's life was a testament to the joy and kindness he spread to everyone around him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jon Arden Agerton. Barry was a devout Christian who cherished his time spent in church and found solace and strength in reading his Bible. His belief was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through life's trials and tribulations with grace and resilience. A man of varied interests, Barry had an eye for beauty which was evident in his love for collecting jewelry, watches and coins. His collections were more than just hobbies; they were reflections of the care and attention he gave to the things he loved. Barry also found great pleasure in the simple things in life, such as watching Westerns and episodes of "Andy Griffith," which brought him laughter and a sense of nostalgia. Barry's love for his family home place and his loving four legged feline companion, Sylvester, was always a source of joy and comfort. As he cherished spending time with his loved ones, he had the rare ability to make anyone feel at home with his friendly banter and genuine interest in their lives. Animals held a special place in Barry's heart. He approached them with the same love and kindness he showed to people, and his gentle spirit was evident in the way he cared for and spoke about the creatures that shared our world. He leaves behind a loving family including his sisters, Ann (Lance) Lucas and Pam Boies both of Matthews, North Carolina. Barry's legacy will also live on through his nephews, David Boies and Jack Taub both of Charlotte, North Carolina and Christian Agerton and Chris (Amy) Agerton both of Pageland, South Carolina; his nieces, Kelly (Neal) Taub and Stella Taub both of Charlotte, North Carolina and Miranda (Wesley) Payne of Pageland, South Carolina.
