Barbara Ellen (Lotshaw) White, age 78 passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday evening, February 19, 2021 at HCA Houston Healthcare in Cypress, TX. She was a resident of Morgantown, IN.
Barbara was born December 20, 1942 in Vine Grove, KY (near Fort Knox), to her parents, the late Jewell and Phelia B. (Mabry) Lotshaw. She attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, and finished school near Tompkinsville in Gamaliel, KY. She had a career at the BCTGM Union (within the Bakery Worker's Union Division) until her retirement in Indianapolis, IN as an Executive Assistant and Secretary.
Barbara was preceded in death on May 21, 2015 by her loving husband of 31 years, Joel (Joe) F. White, whom she married on March 19, 1987 in Nashville, IN. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Davis (Dave) Lotshaw.
Barbara is survived by her beloved children and step children, Angela Eastwood of Greenwood, IN, Dana Steele of Morgantown, IN, Laura (Cesar) Marroquin of Cypress, TX, Teddy (Heather) Coleman of Round Rock, TX, Diana (Earl) Burtnett of North Port, FL, Tracy Coleman of Greenfield, IN, and Teddi Thurman of Indianapolis, IN; siblings, Susie (Mark) Dole of Indianapolis, IN, and Bonnie (Mark) Stocklin of Nokomis, FL; grandchildren, Alicia and Douglas Eastwood, Brooke Phillippe, Crystal Williams, Nicolas, Arianna, Emma and Santiago Marroquin, Zoe, Hudson, Ethan, and Norah Coleman; and ten great grandchildren.
She was passionate about carpentry and fell in love with wood working when asked to build a hope chest for her daughter's graduation. That first project set in motion several other custom pieces in her small wood shop. She loved quilting and was constantly working with different patterns to create beautiful quilts for family and friends. She was a fierce advocate of showing love to others and was extremely generous. If she saw someone in need, then she was always the first to lend a helping hand.
A viewing will be held at the Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown, IN on Tuesday, March 2nd from 4:00 - 8:00 pm for friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held by Father Eric Johnson at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1008 McLary Road, Nashville, IN on Wednesday, March 3rd at 10:00 am. Entombment will take place at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara wanted those that loved her to make a small donation to the charity of their choice, or find a child (family) in their local community that might be in need and provide assistance with compassion and love - This is what Barbara would have done.
