Barbara (D'Errico) Tavares, 91, of Wallingford, passed away Thursday July 21, 2022 at the Midstate Medical Center in Meriden surrounded by family and longtime loving caregiver, Jessie. She was the loving wife of Angelo Tavares who passed away earlier this year on March 28, 2022.
She was born in New Haven, CT, April 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Mellilo) D'Errico. Barbara was a wonderful and loving Mother and wife.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela, wife of Michael Savenelli Sr., and Dori, wife of William Mainella; her four grandchildren, Michael Jr., husband of Delaney Savenelli, Angela, wife of Tony Buccheri, Rebecca, wife of Michael Orosz and Alexa, wife of Andrew Bessette; as well as seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A sister survives, Francis ("Frankie") Gambardella of Branford, CT. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph D'Errico.
Barbara's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Friday, July 29 from 9 am until 10:30 am when the funeral cortege will proceed to Church of the Resurrection where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
