Mrs. Barbara Sue Ricks Meeks, age 80, of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Meeks was born in Soperton, Georgia on January 8, 1945, daughter of the late Edgar Ricks and the late Ila Mae Thigpen Ricks. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Decia Ricks, Russell Ricks, and Billy Ricks. Mrs. Meeks was a homemaker and loved to sew, cook, handcraft, care for her plants, and raise dachshunds.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Earl Meeks, to whom she was married on November 25, 1959; four children, Randy Meeks, Angie Meeks Patterson (Norde), Donna Meeks, and Robert Meeks (Melissa); four grandchildren, Jessie Stephens (Cory), Katie Lloyd (David), Aimee Meeks (Thomas), and Charlie Meeks (Chloe); two great grandchildren, Holden Stephens and Max Norris; four siblings, Lynn Wilkes (Donnie), Dale Ricks (Maurita), Karen Kemp (James), and Duane Ricks; nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Meeks will be cremated. A private interment will take place later at Cave Spring Cemetery.
