Barbara Ann (Martin) LeBlanc, 89, of Bernardston, MA passed away peacefully Wednesday 11/27/24 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Rumford, ME on July 26, 1935, the daughter of Wilfred and Delphine (Hebert) Martin.
Barbara grew up in Gardner, MA and graduated from Gardner High School in 1953. As head drum majorette, she led both the Gardner High School Band and the Simplex Drum and Bugle Corps. She performed in Yankee stadium and on the ship "Queen of Bermuda."
In 1957, Barbara graduated from the Henry Heywood School of Nursing in Gardner, MA. In the same year, she married Roger Philip LeBlanc and they began their married life in Thompsonville, CT. In 1962, Barbara and Roger moved to their forever home in Bernardston, MA and raised their four children. As a registered nurse, Barbara worked for several years at Associated Surgeons in Greenfield, MA retiring in 1996.
An avid ten pin bowler for 50 years, she served as secretary/treasurer and president of several leagues. In addition, she was a Massachusetts delegate for the Women's International Bowling Congress.
Barbara enjoyed knitting, playing cards and the lottery, watching Notre Dame and Patriots football, collecting Steiff Teddy Bears, and caring for her beloved cats.
A devoted mother and wife, nothing was more important to Barbara than her family. She created a loving home and cherished time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her faith and daily devotions guided her throughout her life.
Barbara leaves behind three daughters, Gail LeBlanc of Bernardston, MA, Gwyn LeBlanc of Suffield, CT and Gaye Paquette (Anthony) of Sheldon, VT; two grandchildren, Jacob Paquette (Laela) and Jessica Price (Corey); five great-grandchildren, Troy, Maverick and Aleigha Paquette and Cohen and Connor Price. She is also survived by her three nieces, a nephew, and many other relatives.
Including her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger LeBlanc and her son, Gary LeBlanc.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday 12/16 at 11am at Blessed Trinity Parish, Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield, MA. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
A calling hour will be held from 9:45am-10:45am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield, MA.
