Barbara Lou Kehr, 82, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was born on Sunday, January 28, 1940 in Paris, Virginia to the late Bernard H. Neff and the late Marion Elizabeth Rose Neff. Barbara graduated from Loudoun County Highschool with the class of 1958. She was predeceased by her husband David Burnett Kehr. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, and she adored children. When her own children were young, she raised them and cared for many others in her home through the years.
As a lifelong Old Ashburn resident, she loved the people of Ashburn and enjoyed working for many years at Partlow Brothers Store, serving food with a smile to her friends and neighbors. She also loved her time with the students at the Cedar Lane Elementary School Cafeteria. Barbara dedicated her life to caring for the people she loved. Barbara spent hours antiquing and visiting local flea markets with her children. But her favorite afternoon pastime, for over 40 years, was watching "The Young And The Restless". And, anyone who knew her, knew not to call her between 12:30 and 1:30 during the week.
Barbara was a devoted and loving mother to her six children, son Richard (Estela) Kehr, late daughter Susan (Paul) Jenkins, daughter Debby (Doug) Gibson, daughter Kay (Mark) Walker, son Randall Kehr, and daughter Julie (Chris) Brutchey. Her children will always cherish her memory. Her siblings Donald Neff, Patty Kranenberg, and John Offenstein will remember her with love. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings Bernard Neff, Jr., Claude Neff, and Delbert Neff. Her legacy will live on in her 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
The Kehr Family received friends and family at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175.
