Barbara Julia (MacIntyre) Schultz of Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth PA, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022, at the age of 99 years old.
Barbara was born in 1923, to James A. MacIntyre and Evelyn G. (Meeker) MacIntyre in Morristown NJ. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1941 where she was outstanding in sports, dramatics and the A Cappella choir; president of the Girls Athletic Club, Girls Basketball Captain, and marching band twirler. Barbara then trained as a Lab Technician and worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Barbara married her high school sweetheart William (Bill) Munier Schultz after his service in WWII in 1945 in Morristown NJ. They went on to raise three children: Suzanne, William, and Peter. Barb was a homemaker and active in her children’s schooling and sports activities. She always made birthdays and holidays, especially Christmas, memorable family events.
Bill and Barb created a wonderful family vacation home in the Adirondacks, Saranac Lake NY, that continues, after 64 years to be enjoyed by family and innumerable friends. Barbara was also very active in her church, Long Hill Chapel in Chatham NJ, where she headed up the Decorating committee and participated in Care groups and E.E. Outreach.
Upon Bill’s retirement in 1986 they lived in Greenville SC where their final home was in Rolling Green where Barb was a leader in the homeowner’s association and the neighborhood care/prayer group. Barb had many interests. She was an avid golfer and baseball fan, read western novels and Native American lore, and had artistic talent, especially in painting resin Christmas Manger scene and Santa figurines.
Barbara and Bill were married for 71 years till Bill’s death in 2017. Barb is survived by her three children: Suzanne B. MacIntyre (Norman), William J. Schultz (Judy), and Peter B. Schultz (Lorie), five grandchildren: William J. Schultz, April M. Schumann (Matt), Rudy K. Mueller (Annette), Peter J. Schultz, and Micah J. Schultz and four great grandchildren: Abby M. and Lucas W. Schumann, and Colton A. and Zane A. Mueller.
A private family memorial service will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Moravian Hall Square Good Samaritan Fund, 175 West North St., Nazareth PA, 18046.
