Her maternal grandparents were Lillie Cleland and John Calhoun Dowling. Her paternal grandparents were Rachel Langford and William Pinckney Harrison.
"Bobbi", as she was affectionally known by her family and friends, graduated from Brunson High School where she excelled as a basketball player. She attended Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina. In 1950, she was married to the late Lewis Monroe "Luke" Trowell. They were the parents of three daughters, Karen Trowell Barron (Robert) of Hilton Head, the late Edith Harrison Trowell of Fairfax, and the late Ellen Harrison Trowell of Fairfax. Bobbi's early years were spent in family oriented activities in church, school, and community. In recent years, her memberships were with Bellinger Chapel United Methodist Church and the Hampton County Historical Society. She loved local history and genealogy, and she had a wealth of knowledge in both. She was sure to ask "come, sit and tell me who you are" if she didn't already know. Bobbi loved to dance, and taught many local Fairfax teens to shag right in her garage that she had converted to a dance studio.
In 1960, while working full time, Bobbi returned to the classroom part-time to complete her degree and in 1973 began her career in counseling. She worked with four South Carolina State entities that include the University of South Carolina at Salkehatchie and Columbia, the SC Department of Mental Health, Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and the Department of Social Services, from which she retired in 2001. She was a licensed real estate agent for 26 years.
Bobbi was predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Andrew Charles Johnson; her twin daughters, Ede and Ele; three brothers, John Gary Evans Harrison Jr., Ralph Marion Harrison, and Brooks Dowling Harrison; two sisters, Doris Dean Harrison Ford, and Ruth Annette Harrison.
