Barbara Jolaine Weber was born on April 24th, 1935, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Alma Ada Howard, and Raymond William Weber.
Barbara married Delmar Olaf Conyers in Yankton, SD, on December 12th, 1952. They had 3 children, Ralph Raymond, Mark Olaf and Jeffrey Jay during their 36 years of Marriage. Barbara had met Del one day at the Warrior Hotel where Del was an elevator operator; they instantly fell in love.
Barbara also loved hanging out with her girlfriends; often you would find them either grabbing lunch at a local establishment, shopping at the mall or getting their hair done at the East End Salon. She was a bit of a fashionista and could be found creating clothes from patterns though she might tell you it was from a store in New York.
Barbara lost her mother in 1964 to cancer at the young age of 50 and 36 years later lost her father to an unexpected illness while he was vacationing in Nevada.
Barbara enjoyed traveling the country, family vacations was an absolute must. Her most memorable trips were going to New York City, Niagara Falls, Alaskan cruises and the house on the rock in Wisconsin.
She also enjoyed cooking where if you visited her home, you were either welcomed to a family dinner or offered a baked treat from her stash of recipes. If you were very lucky you might have even been privy to her own best ever bread recipe.
Barbara’s talent was that of a sales person who worked at MCI for many years. She was always in the President’s club as being the top in sales almost every month of her career. After MCI closed, she went on to work as an independent lead generator for State Farm Insurance. Her husband Delmar had passed away on February 20th 2007.
Barbara married Charles Hinrickson on January 1st, 2010. They happened to meet from an ad in the local newspaper. Barbara and Charles would also travel a lot to visit family in multiple states. Charles, a brick layer by trade, received his secondary occupation as landscaper under the supervision of his wife. They planted many bushes and trees throughout the property and she had a great affinity for flowers which were meticulously selected. They raised chickens and hens, sold eggs on the side and harvested many vegetables from their garden every year. She thoroughly enjoyed country living from the humming birds at the front window to their little rescue dog aptly named Bobbie.
Barbara always showed great empathy and charity to those with lesser means. She would give you the last $20 from her purse without hesitation. She also enjoyed donating goods such as coats to homeless people and food items to the local mission shelter.
Barbara spent the last 9 months living with her son Jeffrey in Sioux City who assisted her 24/7 with daily activities and was provided an environment which she could succeed despite the health challenges that she faced and overcame. Many irreplaceable memories were made during this special time and Barbara enjoyed every day to the fullest.
Barbara left the bounds of earth on August 18th at home while holding her son's hand. She is survived by her husband Charles Hinrickson; three sons Ralph Conyers of Castana, Mark (Janet) Conyers of Redfield, SD., and Jeffrey Conyers of Sioux City; 13 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren (+2 coming).
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Alma and Raymond and 1 Grandchild.
