Barbara Ann (Hade) Heffner, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Austin Woods after a short illness.
Barb was born October 21, 1930, in Fort Seneca, OH, a daughter of the late Ora and Fern Hade.
She was a member of Millcreek Community Church and enjoyed attending with her best friend, Barb Zautner. Barb was a homemaker who enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns, and NASCAR, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She loved working in her yard and baking for her family as well.
Barb married her husband, James Walter Heffner, on August 29, 1950, where they made their homes in Tiffin, OH, Mantua, OH, and later Liberty Township, OH until his passing on April 10, 2005. She later moved to Austintown to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren and lived independently until her recent illness.
Barb is survived by her five daughters: Jane Brode of Ravenna, Patricia (Roland) Hawkins of Ravenna, Kathy Biser of Aurora, Peggy (Robert) Houston of Union, NJ, and Shari (Keith) Makar of Austintown; one sister, Judy Swander of Port Clinton, OH; two brothers, Charles Hade of Fremont, OH, and Larry Hade of Fort Wayne, IN; grandsons Jamie Biser, Trevor Biser, Daniel Brode, and Bobby Houston; granddaughters Olivia and Becca Makar; three great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Mary Jo Nay and Sharon (Bill) Schoen.
Besides her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan M. Campbell, and a brother, Tom Hade.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations are made to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, 302 Ridgefield Ct., Asheville, NC 28806, or online at curethekids.org; or to the donor's animal shelter of choice.
The family will be holding a graveside service at Brunstetter Cemetery in lieu of funeral services.
