Barbara B. Porter, 88, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2022 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH after a period of declining health.
She was born August 19, 1933 in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Alfred and Eunice (Hardy) Gosselin.
Barbara grew up and lived the majority of her life in Raymond, NH. She graduated from Raymond High School as her class Valedictorian. On September 1, 1951, she married the love of her life, John G. Porter. They shared two children together, a daughter and a son. Barbara worked as a purchasing agent for Felton Brush Co. in Manchester, NH retiring after 36 years of employment. Barbara was an active member of the Raymond High School Alumni Association.
Barbara's hobbies included baking and cooking for her family and friends. She was someone who effortlessly engaged in conversation with people which allowed her to know many people, how they were related and their personal stories. Barbara was a good listener and will be sadly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John on May 18, 2013, her daughter, Paula Greenglass on January 31, 2019, and her two sisters, Nancy Menard and Mildred Campbell.
Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Maureen Porter of Hollis NH, grandchildren, Jeff Porter and fianc?e Paige Agresti of Stratham NH, Evan Porter of Hollis NH, Matthew Greenglass of Nashua NH, brother, Jeff Gosselin of N. Monmouth ME and several nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 1:30-2:30 PM at the Raymond Congregational Church, 1 Church Rd., Raymond, NH. The memorial service will follow at the church at 2:30 PM. A reception will then follow at the church.
Burial at a later date will be held in the Old Pine Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Raymond High School Alumni Association.
