Barbara Barnes Evans, 89, died peacefully Friday February 24, 2023 in Denver, CO. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents John and Ethel Duarte, her siblings Arlene Travers, Mildred Russo, and John Duarte Jr, her husband Paul Evans and her daughter Kathleen Alva. She is survived by her son Aldrich (Ric) Barnes and his husband Mark of Denver CO, Lisa Castro and her husband Darren of Centennial, CO, son-in-law Rene Alva of San Antonio, TX; 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Barbara was born in Providence, RI and lived in Kearsarge, NH; Hilton Head, SC; Homosassa, FL and the last 11 years in Aurora CO. Barbara was an Innkeeper and Realtor. She enjoyed her grandchildren, playing tennis and golf, entertaining, traveling and the numerous social groups she was involved with over the years. A service will be held this summer in East Providence, RI with internment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
