77, died March 1, 2021, as a result of an acute (non-Covid) and sudden illness. She was the widow of the late Walter Earley (2016), with whom she lived in Marlborough, Massachusetts, for seventeen years. In 2019, Barbara moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Mary Catherine (Ardner) Stack and Vincent Edward Stack. Barbara spent her career primarily in two fields, first as a social worker in nursing homes helping the elderly and then in Framingham Public High School teaching social studies, computing and accounting. She cared deeply about children and the environment and volunteered with the Framingham Teachers Association and Sudbury Valley Trustees. She enjoyed painting, gardening and reading, and until recently, was an active member of the Pinefield Garden Club. She is survived by two children, Nicole Dunn Garay (Val) of Topanga Canyon, CA, and Joel Dunn (Heidi) of Annapolis, MD; two step-children, David Earley (Tina) of Cape Neddick, ME, and Kenneth Earley (Erin) of Ashland, MA; two brothers, Michael Stack of Springfield, VA, and Dan Stack of St. Petersburg, FL; and six grandchildren, Harper and Ryan Dunn, Isaiah and Elaina Earley, and Sarah and Kaillee Earley. Barbara led a meaningful life and will be sorely missed by her family, friends and community. A remembrance will be held at the conclusion of the pandemic.
