Barbara J Collier, 87 a resident of Easton, NH, passed away on February 1, 2021 at The Summit assisted living facility in Whitefield, NH. She was born in Lawrence, MA, on May 29, 1933 to the late Joseph and Helen (Belle Isle) Dennis. She was a graduate of Methuen High School in 1951. Barbara then went on to graduate from Lawrence General Hospital with an RN in 1954.
Barbara met her husband Jim while working as a nurse at Lawrence General Hospital. They were married on April 6, 1956 and then moved to Lunenburg MA. Barbara continued to work as a staff nurse until they moved to Bedford, NH in the fall of 1964. They lived in Bedford, NH where Barbara continued as a school nurse. She went back to school and got a BA in Psychology/Sociology in from New England College in 1976.
In 1984 Barbara and Jim moved to Easton, NH where they enjoyed a quieter life and the beauty of the north country. Barbara worked for the town of Easton in a variety of roles from town clerk, town auditor and secretary to the selectmen during the years of 1984-2002. She also worked at their favorite breakfast place, Polly's Pancake Parlor during the years 1986-1994. Barbara and Jim started their own business called Loon Reservation Services in 1994. This business offered integrated rental, cleaning and laundry services to area home and condo owners.
Barbara is survived by her son, Michael and wife Michelle Collier, of Bedford, NH; daughter, Lisa and her husband Randy Robar of East Barnard VT,' daughter, Patricia and her husband David Laroche, of Exeter, NH and her granddaughters, Heather and Rachel Laroche.
A private service was held at Saint Rosa of Lima Church in Littleton on February 8. Burial services will be held in Easton in the spring. Being outdoors, people will be welcome to come and pay their respects. The family requests memorial contributions in Barbara's memory be made to The Summit in Whitefield, NH.
