Barbara (Bebe) Boren, much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died on May 10, 2022
Bebe had a great love for God, family, nature, gardening and travel. She began every day in meditation with a cup of coffee in hand as she listened for God's love and spiritual direction. She loved Sunday morning church services and singing in the choir. She extended Christ's love to everyone she met, always accepting and never judging. Bebe loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, hosting "Grandma Camp" each summer, and teaching her grandchildren to see the beauty of nature. She loved all God's creatures, even spiders. Bebe spent many hours with her bird book, binoculars in hand, and could identify most birds and plants on the ranch. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jim, her family and friends. Some of her adventures took her to birdwatch in Costa Rica, ride a mule down the Grand Canyon, canoe in the boundary waters of Minnesota, and explore the Big Bend.
Bebe was born in Baird, Texas, on October 26, 1937, to Dr. C. R. and Barbara Cockrell. The family later moved to Snyder, where she lived until graduating from Snyder High School. Bebe met and fell in love with James "Jim" Boren from Post, and they were married in her family home on December 31, 1956. Bebe and Jim started their family in Justiceburg, and later moved to Lubbock where they raised their children. While in Lubbock, Bebe completed her Bachelor of Nursing and had a successful career as a public health nurse. Upon retirement, Bebe and Jim returned to Justiceburg, where they enjoyed the country life until moving to Post in 2020. They spent 65 years as partners and best friends.
