Barbara Lynn (Gill) Burris, 87, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Barbara was born on June 10, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas to Thomas Leonard and Juanita Allison Gill. Later in life Barbara met Virgil Wade Burris and fell in love. They spent many years together. Barbara was a dedicated employee serving as an Administrative Assistant at Pantex for 35 years. She was a proud Baptist member of Paramount Baptist Church. Barbara was also a member of IAAP and the Joy Sunday School class. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, she loved watching them play. She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Wade Burris and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Garner; her son-in-law, Kelly W. Garner; her grandsons, Andrew W-S Garner and Alexander G. Garner; her honorary grandsons, Rodger Godoy, Matthew Cassetty and Joel Richards. Special thanks to the employees of Professional Case Management for their many years of love and dedication to my mother. Visitation will be Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Facility. Funeral services will take place Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
