Barbara V. (Palmer) Bordeau, 95, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Lucien E. Bordeau for 56 years.
Born in Georgia, VT, daughter of the late Elijah and Ada (Cross) Palmer, she was a longtime resident of Plainville and an involved parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church. There she enjoyed volunteering with her parish family. She had various jobs through her many years, but her favorite was being by her husband's side and caring for their family and grandchildren. Barbara leaves her five children, David Bordeau and his wife Debbe of Plymouth, Stella George and her husband Bob of Plainville, Linda Bordeau of Bristol, Dinah Pellerin and her husband Jim of Bristol, and Laurie Fasciano and her husband Bill of Plainville; She was lovingly called Grandma, Gram, M?m?, and Grandma Barbie by her nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and her precious great-great grandson, Niko. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends. Barbara was predeceased by her brothers and sisters and her beautiful granddaughter, Robyn.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St. in Plainville. She was laid to rest with her husband Lucien in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. For the safety of everyone, masks were required in Church at the request of the family.
