Barbara Bartlett left this life on March 22, 2021, 8 days shy of her 96th birthday. With the hint of a smile, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born on March 30th, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mildred R. and John C. Weiner, Barbara is survived by her four children, Linda B. Bahrenburg, Frederick F. Bartlett, III, Peter J. Bartlett, Timothy R. Bartlett, stepdaughter Mara J. Miller, eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Her beloved husband Robert L. Klein predeceased her in 2018. They resided in Naples, Fla, at Moorings Park. Barbara raised her children with their father Frederick F. Bartlett, Jr. in Bryn Mawr, Pa. and in France and Germany in the early days of the Cold War. She also resided in Chestertown, Md. with her then husband Robert 'Buck' Wilson before Naples, Fla. A cum laude graduate of Wayland Academy, she won a scholarship to the University of Chicago, followed by the University of Wisconsin. A wife, mother, pilot, pioneer and homemaker extraordinaire, she always volunteered her services; whether in hospital care, on behalf of endangered children, or for the Naples Baker Art Museum and the League of Women Voters, among many others. She always stood up when justice was not being served. Barbara was known for her infectious smile, her kindness, her adventurous spirit, her spirited demeanor, and her love of life. But most of all, for her deep love for and care of, her family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church. The service will also be streamed through the church's website. Kindly pass forward her smile. Cremation has been entrusted to The Beachwood Crematory, 4444 Tamiami Tr, N., (239)261-1767.
