Mrs. Barbara Ann (Lanham) Atkins, age 82, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She was born in Aragon, GA, on Monday, May 22, 1939. Mrs. Atkins was the daughter of the late, Lester Lanham and the late, Hazel Dora (Roberson) Lanham. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her brother, Junior Lanham.
Mrs. Atkins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown and a former member of West Rome Baptist Church, Rome, GA. She made a career specializing in cosmetics for Belks Department Store, Essermans and the Faye store in Rome, and J & J Drug Store in Rockmart. GA. Mrs. Atkins was a prayer warrior. She loved reading her Bible, singing, cooking, shopping and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Eddy L. Atkins of Cedartown; her daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Rick Lundy of Cedartown; her granddaughter, Grace Ann Lundy of Cedartown; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Godfrey of Aragon and Shirley and Joe Rayburn of Aragon; nieces, nephews and their spouses, Mike and Charlotte Godfrey of Rockmart, Eric Rayburn of Aragon, Kristen and Drew Dempsey of Rome, and a number of other relatives.
In accordance with the family's wishes, Mrs. Atkins will be cremated. The family will be holding a private memorial gathering at a later date.
