Barbara A. Punzel, 86 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Alden Estates of Jefferson.
Barb was born on September 3, 1938, in Watertown, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Mabel (Zimmermann) Boettcher. She grew up on her family farm and graduated from Johnson Creek High School in 1956. Barb met Emil Punzel over a cocktail at the River Crest Bar in Jefferson, and the couple were married on June 23, 1962, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Jefferson. They had 3 children and celebrated 62 years of marriage this past June. Barb worked at number of places over the years, but loved working at Larsen Canning, retiring in 2006, when the plant closed. She was a talented baker and always made sure her family and guests were well stocked with sweet treats. Barb loved Elvis Presly, his music, and decorated her home with many Elvis collectors' items. Barb's care for others and love for her family (and Elvis) was appreciated and she will be missed.
She is survived by: her husband Emil Punzel of Jefferson; children Sandra Punzel of Jefferson, Michael (Jessica) Punzel of Hortonville, and Marvin (Melinda) Punzel of Holman; 6 grandchildren Christian (Laura), Ellison, Keziann, Lexis (Joel), Brooke (Josh), and Zander; as well as her 2 sisters Beverly and Evelyn Boettcher, both of Muskego.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents.
A private Christian funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, with Rev. Christopher Raiford Presiding. Barb will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery following the funeral.
