It is with great sadness that the family of Babbette Ferrari, 67, announces her passing on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Babbette was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 9, 1954, the daughter of the late Anson and Pearl Sears.
When I thought about writing Babbette's obituary, I realized how lucky I was to have had such a beautiful, close and loving relationship with her. Babbette loved others unconditionally and without judgement. Although being sick a long time, her perseverance, will and determination was evident as she continued to be strong and brave until the end.
Babbette was a former resident of Poughkeepsie and Reed Hook, Dutchess County, NY. She worked for years in banking and finance, and was a photographer's model and a finalist in the Miss Teenage America Pageant in Palisades Park. She was judged a winner in the preliminaries of the nationwide contest. Babbette attended Dutchess Community College and studied Child Development.
She married John Ferrari, on October 16, 1999, in Rhinebeck, NY and eventually relocated to Florida. She is survived by her husband, John Ferrari, sons Eric and Timothy Burger, daughter-in-law Tracy Burger, Patrick Ferrari and daughter-in-law Erika, Kevin and Michael Ferrari, six grandchildren, Lilah, Alyssa, Adrianna, Addison, Kevin and Thomas, and a brother Charles Sears. She was predeceased by her sister Pamela, and brother Peter Sears.
Babbette will be greatly missed, but I know that Heaven just received a very special angel. May God bless her.
A Celebration of Life was held at Aycock Funeral Home, in Stuart, FL on February 12, followed by a service where prayers were offered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 NW Dunn Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.
