Avis Eva Dellea (Butterfield, Greenwood), 81, passed away on June 10, 2021 at Rockingham County Nursing home after a period of declining health. She was born on March 28, 1940, daughter of the late Wallace Butterfield and Grace (Dearborn) Butterfield.
Avis grew up and spent most of her life in Raymond, NH. She is often fondly remembered for working many years as a pre-kindergarten teacher at the Raymond Village Kindergarten located in the lower level the United Methodist Church on Main Street. Following her time as a teacher she worked many years the Rockingham County Nursing home in Brentwood as a CNA and the activities director. She then joined Seacoast Hospice (currently Compasses Hospice) to help those who were near the end of their journey feel comfortable in their last days. Throughout her life she has cared for many and always provided comforting words and a soft shoulder to cry on. She always enjoyed her time spent outside watching nature and listening to the loons when she lived on Governors Lake.
Avis was the widow by her husbands Joseph Henry Greenwood (d.1981) and John Joseph Dellea (d.2004). She is survived by her four sons Walter (Scott), Micol, Richard, and Warren (Jay), nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and countless other beloved friends and family members. She will be missed by so many.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 17th, 2021 at Brewitt Funeral Home located at 2 Epping Street, Raymond, NH from 5-6pm
Funeral service will follow on Thursday, June 17 at the funeral home at 6pm.
