Aurelio Giannitti Jr., age 90 peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Aurelio was born on May 11, 1932 in Stamford, Connecticut. He was a Korean War Veteran who served our country honorably. Aurelio's professional career was spent with Pitney Bowes as a Production Manager for 39 years, retiring in 1989. During the 60's and 70's, Aurelio volunteered his time as a Pony League Baseball Coach, taking several of his teams to the championships. Aurelio was an avid Boston Red Sox fan through the good times and the bad, imparting his love for the sport and team onto his family. His dedication was rewarded in October of 2004 when he got to see them win the World Series, and again in 2007, 2013 & 2018! Aurelio celebrated his 80th birthday in Fenway during the park's centennial celebration and a brick with his name was installed. His 90th birthday was spent in Cooperstown, New York at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum where he had the privilege to meet the Chairwoman Jane Forbes Clark along with inductee Jim Kaat, pitcher of the Minnesota Twins. He was generous, laid back, and by example taught each of his family and friends what true, unconditional love was. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
