Audie Eugene "Gene" Dillard

Audie Eugene Dillard (Gene) went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 7, 2024 in Rising Star, Texas. He was 83 years old.

Gene was born August 9, 1940 in Pioneer, Texas to Bill and Edith Hamby Dillard. Gene was the only boy surrounded by four sisters, Betty, Margaretm Patsy, and Barbara.

Gene moved with his family to Cross Plains and Abilene, where he attended School.

Gene worked in the oilfield, but Cross Plains has always been his home. After retirement, gene dedicated his life to His Lord. He lived the Great Commission from Matthew 28. He could be seen circling the school, driving through town or just meeting someone on the street and praying for protection, healing, unity and above all salvation for everyone. He knew the workers were few, but the harvest was plenty.

Gene is survived by his sons, Jerry Foster; Dale Foster; Kenny Foster; sister, Margaret Clark; numerous nieces and nephews, his Church Family, and Friends.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 27, 2024 venue and time will be posted on Higginbotham Funeral Home website closer to the date of service.
